业主和租户之间的纠纷一直以来是我国常见的纠纷课题,尤其在冠状病毒爆发后,更有租户遭业主驱赶等课题出现,为此,公平租约工作委员会向政府提出15项建议,包括负责处理不公租赁行为的委员会。

公平租约工作委员会以政府提供的房地产税回扣事件为例,指出尽管政府多次作出呼吁,但是还是有业主不愿将所得的税务回扣,转让给租户。

因此,该委员会提出了15项建议,包括让新加坡竞争与消费者委员会担任监督机构,为零售租金率设立规范计算方式,以及设立委员会等。

其实我国租赁课题一直存在,而当其中更涉及客工时,情况更糟。

日前,新加坡客工组织情义之家(HOME)的个案管理经理Luke Tan也曾分享到,基于人力部加强了管制措施,有些住在店屋的客工被发现他们的房间过于拥挤后,被迫搬出店屋而露宿街头。

留下的客工也也遭到重击,因为房东还试图调涨租金。
